My Approach

I provide collaborative counseling for people experiencing difficulties navigating issues such as life balance and life transitions, stress or anxiety, cultural issues, insomnia, ADHD, or depression.

I also provide consultations for individuals or organizations seeking help with values clarification and cultural adaptation, workplace stress, life/work balance, and cultural construction and integration.

I believe in the regenerative capacity of individuals, and my goal is to help you to find your own resources for gaining clarity.  Together we will identify your unique internal resources, or resources you would like to develop (e.g. resilience, tenacity, spirituality, creativity), as well as external resources (e.g. community connections, cultural traditions, natural surroundings, family or friends). We will address unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior that might get in your way.  We may also explore cultural contexts and their influence on the development of personal expressions as they relate to your life.  Your values will provide a compass as we map out actions that move you toward the life you want to live.

There is a deep reservoir of potential within us all.  I help you weave your own tapestry of preferred values, beliefs and connections and the meaning you bring to the different experiences in your life.  I also help you get in touch with the serenity which allows you to see yourself and others more clearly.  The possibilities suggested by recent findings in neuroscience are exciting and hopeful, and I keep this in mind while working with my clients.
